After A Disappointing 5 6 Record And A Dismal 51 10 Loss Mississippi State Has Shown Zach Arnett The Door

Mississippi State Fires Head Football Coach Zach Arnett After Just One Year

After a disappointing 5-6 record and a dismal 51-10 loss, Mississippi State has shown Zach Arnett the door.

Arnett, who was hired in 2022, failed to meet expectations in his first season as the Bulldogs' head coach.

Despite a promising start, Arnett's Bulldogs struggled throughout the season, failing to win a single SEC game. The team's most embarrassing performance came in their final game, a blowout loss to Texas A&M.

Athletic director Zac Selmon announced Arnett's firing on Monday and expressed his disappointment in the team's performance.

"We made the decision to part ways with Zach after careful consideration," Selmon said. "We appreciate his efforts, but we believe a change is necessary to move our program forward."

Arnett, who previously served as an analyst at Ole Miss, is a rising star in the coaching ranks. However, he will now have to look for another opportunity to prove himself as a head coach.
